An overweight prisoner wedges in wall during prison break

A Brazilian prisoner wedged in his getaway hole in a wall while he was trying to escape a jail in the Brazilian state of Goias late on Monday night (December 3, 2012). The tattooed and bald convict and his accomplice used a metal pipe ripped from a shower to smash a hole through the concrete wall to squeeze his way out. However, his attempt ended in humiliation because his belly stopped him making his break for freedom. The overweight inmate got stuck midway, half his body touching freedom, and his legs and middle stuck back in the prison. Firefighters were later called by guards to free the unnamed prisoner. "He has a very large physique and is also very tall," Lieutenant Tiago Costa of the local fire brigade said. "The other prisoners tried to push him but he stayed stuck in the wall. He started screaming in pain, and that was when the prison guards were alerted." The prisoner was then taken to hospital with a suspected broken rib under police protection.
